This contemporary job consisted of changing out 2x2 type wood spindles and replacing with iron spindles. Another interesting feature - the KCWood designer & homeowner had an inspiration to add a unique flair by changing the trim board color to a highly figured birdseye maple trim piece - stained to an accent color. This trim piece covered the damage of removing the old spindles as seen on the top rail. |

| Below - Wood Balusters replaced with Twist and Basket Series Iron Spindles ... also the Newel Post Conversion consisted of a 'Sleeve-Type' Newel Post where we make a new post at our shop that fits over the old newel post like a 'sleeve'. It gives the post more of an up-dated look and feel and is more substantial. The handrail was also replaced. The photos below were taken prior to carpet replacement. This was a very quick project that took place in less than a week from start to finish and was done on site in one day. See also Gallery of this staircase  |
